Information for 2020-21 Archery

Due to the current pandemic situation, the start of the 2020-21 Archery season has been pushed back to begin sometime in November or December due to changes in KHSAA policies.  We are currently working on setting gym times, safety standards for tryouts and practices, etc.

The only certainty at this time is the required forms that must be completed prior to any participation in tryouts or practices.  There are 4 necessary forms:

  • KHSAA physical (3 copies),
  • Consent to Treat,
  • BCBE Consent to participate during COVID, and
  • COVID screening form.

These forms can be located on the Ryle Athletics page of the school website.  All forms must be completed and turned into Coach Klaas prior to scheduling a tryout time.

Once we have specific dates and plans in place, the information will be shared via email to those who have filled out the interest form and have submitted their paperwork to Coach Klaas by November 1.

Please fill out the online form if interested in trying out for the 2020-21 archery team.

All participants of open gym and/or tryouts must have an updated KHSAA Physical form completed (3 copies). You will not be able to participate in open gyms or tryouts without having the required forms completed (all forms are located on the Athletics page).

The following criteria is used during the tryouts, which will take place over 2-3 days.

Knowledge of the 11 Steps of archery success

Archery safety - whistle commands, safe handling of bows & arrows

Grades (student must be eligible per the school policy in order to tryout)

Students do not need to own bows to be part of our team as we have bows and arrows that are supplied for those who want to use school equipment.
