Ryle's coaching staff believes in modeling collaboration and teamwork for the athletes at Ryle High School. Each coach brings a unique gift, teaching style, and personality to the program, but it is only through the implementation and utilization of individual and collective skills, talents and strengths that we can achieve our highest goals.
Sarah Casson
Sarah Casson has been the varsity cheer coach for Ryle since 2016. Prior to her role at Ryle, she coached both middle school and high school cheer at Pikeville High School. In addition to her role as coach, she is also a seventh-grade teacher at Gray Middle School, and recently earned her juris doctorate (law degree). Coach Sarah and her husband have three children; Carter, Caraline and Charlotte.
Jessie Erickson
Jessie Erickson has been the JV coach since 2016. Mrs. Erickson's patience, consistency and ability to develop young athletes is unparalleled. In addition to coaching cheer, Mrs. Erickson is also a sponsor for FCCLA and teaches the culinary courses at Ryle. Mrs. Erickson is married to Coach Erickson (of the soccer and basketball teams) and together they have one son, Berkley.
Courtney Koch
Courtney Koch has been a member of the coaching staff since 2021. Courtney focuses on the freshman team but is very active in working with both JV and Varsity. In addition to coaching, Courtney also works for the district as an occupational therapist and is also a Ryle alumna, having cheered for Ryle before graduating in 2015. Courtney and her husband David have two daughters; Lucy and Sutton.
Allison Mueller
As of spring 2024, Allison has been coaching in various roles for a total of 7 years; she served as the head coach of Owen County Middle School and KAPOS regional chair. She is also trained as a KHSAA/KAPOS judge. Allison joined Ryle's coaching staff in 2022 and works with both JV and Varsity. She is currently a 7th grade science teacher at Gray Middle School and a proud dog mom to Captain and Jet.
